Desc: HMA, founded in part with Japan's leading talent/music agency & Music Publishing in the U.S., has been providing music education to hundreds of students in Southern California since 2005. The music academy offers a wide range of programs from group classes for young children, to private lessons for professionally–minded teenagers, and even continuing education for adults.
BMK is divided into 2 levels. Level 1 for ages 3 and 4, and level 2 for ages 5 and 6. Classes are taught using The Color Soundation method that teaches the fundamentals of musical notation, as well as development of pitch and rhythm. During a typical BMK class children will have hands on time with basic percussion instruments such as drums, castanets, and rhythm sticks. Students will also learn note identification and sight reading through a proprietary approach involving note recognition by color coding. Students will begin to learn songs based on the color scale and eventually with standard notation. The scale is learned through singing and pitch training with keyboard, xylophone, and hand bells, among the many tools we use to teach the standard scale and pitch. Level 2 will incorporate slightly more challenging levels of the activities used in level 1.
