Desc: I am a professional; do not risk your computer in the hands of someone untrustworthy. I will have you drop off your computer at my place of work and you can pick it up when it is completed.
I can fix anything ranging from virus problems to complete OS installs. I can also repair hardware (and replace if necessary) and get your computer running tip-top again.
The reason I am offering this is because of a recent visit to Best Buy here in Madison. I literally watched them charge $180-$300 for basic diagnosis & repair services with a big smile. A RIPOFF. Not to mention that as I was listening to the people that work there - I realized that they really know nothing about what they are working on. I will diagnose your computer and then determine what needs to be done free of charge. I will then contact you via text message, phone, or email with a quote to repair with the option to upgrade your OS, memory, hard drive space, etc. Some hardware components will need to be ordered and that can take a couple days and cost more money, but almost all components are readily available to me.
I cannot believe that Geek Squad and similar services can actually get away with charging almost $200 to "optimize" and install and anti-virus program. I do this everyday and there is no reason for them to charge so much money for something relatively simple. Don't waste your money...
**UPDATE** // Just a note - I have witnessed not once, but twice a diagnosis of a "failed motherboard" by members of Geek Squad (a diagnosis that costs $135) - A problem that basically means for most people that your computer is junk. On both occasions I fixed the computers and had them running without replacing the motherboard (or any component for that matter). This is just a ploy they use to get you to buy parts form them. This is a tactic used by shady automobile mechanics as many of you know - the more things change the more they stay the same...
I just want to help people with lower prices and faster service; I am not trying to beat up Geek Squad, but sometimes the truth hurts.
