Title: WARNING: ORLANDO CARPET CLEANING SCAMS

Desc: Unfortunately, some carpet cleaning companies use misleading information and unbelievably low prices in their ads as a way to set you up for an unpleasant high-pressure sales pitch when they arrive to do work in your home. Then, when they do arrive, you find out that their advertised "specials" DO NOT include:
1. DETERGENT OR CHEMICALS. The price in their ad is only for "basic" or "maintenance" cleaning -essentially only water- and you need chemicals, which of course, are extra.
2. PRE-CONDITIONING. (Also referred to as "dual process" in their ad). Pre-conditioning is a required first step in any carpet cleaning job- but if you want it it'll cost you more.
3. TRUCK MOUNTED HOT WATER EXTRACTION CLEANING. The only cleaning method endorsed by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and Shaw Industries, the world's largest carpet manufacturer. Other methods simply cannot remove the dirt, bacteria, and dust mite residues that truck mounted cleaning can.
4. I.I.C.R.C. CERTIFIED TECHNICIANS. Many companies claim to have certified technicians; the question to ask is, certified by who? Unless they've been certified by the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning, and Restoration Certification (I.I.C.R.C.) and have the credentials to prove it, their employees may not be as qualified to clean in your home as they'd like you to believe.
5. SPOT AND STAIN TREATMENT. Some of these companies won't even attempt to remove spots unless you pay extra for this service. It's like buying a new car and having to pay extra for the tires and steering wheel!
6. HIDDEN TRAVEL CHARGE. Incredibly, some companies tack on an extra charge just for coming to your home.
As you can see, some of these carpet cleaning "specials" are no bargain at all.
